That was an awesome review. I wasn't too big-a-fan of JonTron's Starfox Adventures review (because I grew up playing that game on my Gamecube), but I love his Nuts & Bolts review as it truly invoked my anger, and pent-up frustration that scarred me for life.
I will somewhat agree with his review; it is great as a standalone step into the OOT-esque foray. However, as a Starfox game, it is indeed the BLACK SHEEP of the series. (I played Starfox Adventures before Starfox on SNES, and the retelling Starfox 64 when it first released) Still, that doesn't make SFA a terrible game, many Nintendo games have had black sheep sequels. Super Mario Bros. 2 (Doki Doki Panic) was different from the others, yet it became the fifth-best selling game in the NES library. Same could be said with the 3D mario games. Super Mario Sunshine was a black sheep, yet it introduced staple characters in the Mario Series: Shadow Mario (Bowser Jr., the one who we all love to hate.), Piantas, and Nokis who would show up in the Mario Sports games. Zelda had a black sheep sequel in the iteration known as The Adventure of Link (AVGN explains it better than I can), and one of my favorite game series: Metroid had it too! Metroid II was different, but it set the stage for the legendary Super Metroid with of course, the Metroid Larva itself!
Well, I'll be honest I did grow up playing this game, and enjoying it. Looking back upon it, I can see why Rare was bought out by Microsoft. When viewed objectively, as a Starfox game (and playing its predecessors afterward), I will agree it is mediocre. Let's just put it this way: at least JonTron's review of Starfox Adventures (or as he calls it Stairfax Temperatures) is miles better than Game Dude's review of the Starfox series.
This is still the best review that he's done. There's tons of great moments, such as, AND IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, HOLY SHIT, WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DO THIS TO ME GODDAMMIT, HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO MEEE?!?!
